The trustees wish to make reading a popular hobby among students and young generation, which is influenced by lot of other entertainment avenues. The Library is not for profit and is fully funded by Kantilal J Choksi Charitable Trust.
Our library building consists of basement, ground floor and first floor. Basement has children's library along with Cyber cafa and conference room. The ground floor has some free reading space, book racks and administration offices. The first floor has reading area and some empty space which is reserved for future expansion.
The Assembly Room seats up to 100 people and contains a piano and a permanent screen for projection. There is a kitchenette, but there is no access to refrigeration and no dishwasher.
The library’s collection of historical newspapers is also still available on microfilm in the library. In microfilm, the Belmont Citizen Herald is available from April 7, 1988 to the current year
This program will offer delivery of Library materials to patrons unable to get out of their home. Books, films, audiobooks, and music will be available for delivery.
The K J Choksi Public Library has a separate division for the children. Equipped with English, Indian languages books, the division caters the information as well as recreational needs of the children. Arranging children activity every Sunday. At present the Children's Library hold best collection books and many periodicals.
